Westerdahl Scores 11, Neal Hits 5 Treys in Chargers’ Blowout of Waubonsee

Freshman guard Allison Westerdahl (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) scored a season-high 11 points and had a team-best five assists as the Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team dominated Waubonsee in a 66-42 victory Saturday afternoon.

Westerdahl hit a pair of 3-pointers and also grabbed four rebounds while recording her first double-digit scoring day as a Charger.

Sandburg (5-4) also got a game-high 15 points from sophomore Cora Neal (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville) on the strength of a 5-for-9 performance from beyond the arc. Sophomore forward Kennedy Jackson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) scored 11 and had seven rebounds for the Chargers.

Sandburg took a 39-22 advantage into halftime and went on a 17-0 run to start the third quarter for its biggest lead at 56-22.
